In 2023, I bought a house on Lake Livingston. I soon saw that seasonal winds and water bring a lot of trash into the coves by my home. At first, I was annoyed by the garbage in the lake, but over time, I started to laugh at the absurdity of the situation. It’s surprising how much trash ends up there, and some of it is just plain weird. Now, I spend some time each week cleaning Lake Livingston—one contractor bag at a time.
The lake is a beautiful place to be enjoyed by everyone for years to come, and I hope showing the trash I find makes people consider what they bring to the water. If you bring disposable items, please take them with you.
